A QAD Case Study
The University of California, Davis faced decentralized, ad hoc shipping across departments and locations, which drove high shipping costs, limited visibility, and made it harder to manage export and shipping compliance. To address this, UC Davis worked with QAD and its QAD Global Trade and Transportation Execution (GTTE) solution to build AggieShip, a centralized outbound shipping system for staff across the university.
QAD implemented cloud-based Transportation Execution, Desktop Shipping, and Freight Bill Audit & Pay to consolidate carrier accounts, compare rates and service levels, and allocate charges back to departments through internal recharge numbers. The result was better cost control, improved visibility and reporting, fewer manual invoice-processing burdens, and stronger compliance controls, including restricted party screening and support for export regulations.
