Samvardhana Motherson Reflectec (SMR) is a leading global manufacturer of passenger car rearview mirrors and camera-based sensing systems, with more than 9,300 employees and production centers across 15 countries. Facing the challenge of unifying disparate plants on a single ERP platform that supports multiple countries, languages and regional variations, SMR needed to install an ERP at its Langfang (China) plant within three months to secure a large customer contract.

SMR’s IT team rapidly implemented QAD ERP at Langfang and went live on schedule, the customer verified compliance and awarded the contract. The rollout scaled to nearly all global plants, producing ~96% KPI process compliance (vs. an 85% target), a 50% reduction in customer/document response time, a 20% cut in inventory, faster plant implementations (18 months reduced to 3–4 months), and standardized reporting, forecasting and cost control—boosting efficiency and profitability.
