A QAD Case Study
PennEngineering, a global leader in thin-sheet fasteners since 1942 with manufacturing and technical facilities across the US, Europe and Asia, faced fragmented quality systems after years of organic growth and acquisitions. Inconsistent, sometimes paper-based processes and limited visibility between plants acting as internal suppliers led to slow corrective actions and minor audit findings that risked escalation—creating an urgent need for standardized, enterprise-wide quality control.
The company implemented QAD EQMS at 11 plants to centralize document control, APQP/PPAP workflows and NCR/CAPA processes. The single system sped PPAP preparation, improved root-cause analysis and containment of non-conformances, and made corrective actions and documentation visible across sites. As a result, PennEngineering standardized global quality practices, reduced customer issues, improved audit readiness, and established a flexible, centralized knowledge base that scales with the business.
