A QAD Case Study
Fraco S.A., a Bogotá‑based family‑owned manufacturer of gaskets and engine parts with over 9,000 products and 300+ employees, faced major disruption when Colombia shut non‑essential manufacturing in March 2020. The pandemic halted production, created global supply‑chain delays and exposed limitations of Fraco’s on‑premise QAD ERP as staff suddenly needed remote access and new procedures to protect employees and customers.
Fraco supplemented government guidance and its ISO procedures with QAD/Quistem/AIAG’s Automotive Operational Restart Readiness Checklist and related webinars, then implemented safety barriers, sanitation stations and distancing plans while assessing inventory and supplier risks. The checklist helped Fraco reopen its Bogotá facilities in May 2020 with greater confidence in worker safety and supply continuity, and highlighted the business case for moving to cloud ERP to simplify future remote operations.
