A QAD Case Study
Ajinomoto Althea is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in clinical-to-commercial drug process development and aseptic fill-finish services with a strong record of cGMP compliance. As the company grew, it was hindered by two non-integrated ERP systems, manual paper-based quality processes, siloed spreadsheets, and the need to meet increasing regulatory and DQSA reporting requirements while improving project cost visibility and scalability.
Althea evaluated 20+ ERPs and implemented QAD Enterprise Applications with Item Attributes, Quality Control and Automation Solutions, plus integrated barcode/label printing and handheld scanning. The single validated system replaced paper workflows, streamlined receiving, cycle counts, inventory moves and releases, enabled real-time CofA and customer reporting, cut warehouse data-entry time dramatically, supported higher throughput without adding staff, and positioned the company to meet upcoming DQSA and other regulatory demands.
