A QA Systems Case Study

Preview of the SAAB Case Study

SAAB - Customer Case Study

SAAB, a global aerospace and defence company, faced the immense challenge of developing the wing flap control system for the Airbus A400M. The project required adherence to the rigorous DO-178B safety standard, where 70% of the team's effort was dedicated to documentation and validation to provide the necessary proof of testing for certification. QA Systems provided its Cantata test tool to help meet this critical need for verification.

By implementing Cantata, SAAB qualified the tool for use and then employed it to develop and test the control system in both simulated and real hardware environments. The solution automatically generated the essential test reports and provided the traceability needed to prove comprehensive test coverage against over 800 requirements per unit. As a result, QA Systems enabled SAAB to successfully certify the project to the highest DO-178B Level A, significantly reducing manual effort and ensuring the utmost safety.
