Case Study: Osys AG achieves DO-178B verification and coverage with QA Systems' Cantata

The customer, Osys AG, faced the challenge of developing a test system for a critical aerospace engine. This project, known as DECATS, required rigorous software verification to meet the demanding DO-178B safety standard for a major failure condition. Osys AG selected QA Systems and their Cantata tool to help achieve the necessary unit and structural coverage testing for their C++ code.

QA Systems provided the Cantata testing tool, which proved highly effective for the solution. The tool's unique 'wrapping' feature allowed engineers to test classes in isolation and simulate difficult external conditions. The solution enabled full unit testing of all safety-related modules and provided the necessary coverage evidence. The technical support from QA Systems was also praised for being 100% effective, and the tool was successfully used to identify gaps in system test coverage, ensuring the project's verification requirements were met.
