Hitachi Vantara - Customer Case Study

Hitachi Vantara was contracted to develop a safety-critical autonomous vehicle guidance application in C++ that had to comply with the stringent ISO 26262 ASIL D standard. They required a certified testing tool that could handle complex C++ code, including instantiated templates, and provide the necessary verification evidence. Their end customer, a global Tier 1 supplier, requested they evaluate the Cantata tool from QA Systems for the project.

QA Systems provided Cantata, a testing tool pre-certified for ISO 26262, which Hitachi Vantara used for white-box unit, integration, and system testing. The tool successfully parsed their complex code and nested templates, automatically generated tests and reports, and provided detailed code coverage. This allowed the team to identify problems quickly and deliver a certified project on time, leading to high customer satisfaction and a mandate to use Cantata for all future C and C++ testing.
