Ferris State University’s Network Forensics and Analysis Class Uses CloudShark to Train the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Analysts

Ferris State University’s Information Security & Intelligence program needed a better way to teach network forensics and packet analysis without spending excessive time on uploading, distributing, and managing packet captures for the class. QA Cafe’s CloudShark was used in Dr. Jim Furstenberg’s Network Forensics and Analysis course to help students work with real captures in a more practical, hands-on environment.

With QA Cafe’s CloudShark CS Personal SaaS solution, Ferris State University was able to organize pcaps, share them through a browser, manage profiles, and use built-in tools like Zeek without extra administration. The result was a more efficient teaching workflow, deeper classroom content, and a stronger student learning experience, while also giving students exposure to enterprise-grade tools used by analysts in the field.
