St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport - Customer Case Study

St. Pete‑Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is a small but growing public airport in Florida that must maintain strict FAA safety and security standards across a 1,918‑acre airfield with a lean maintenance staff. Key challenges include keeping runway lighting and windsocks fully operational, preventing bird hazards on open, water‑surrounded grounds, and meeting rigorous documentation and inspection requirements while competing to attract airlines and passengers.

PIE implemented the Q Ware Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), using its Preventive Maintenance and Work Order modules to schedule FAA‑mandated tasks, attach checklists, assign and prioritize work, and log labor. The result is an intuitive, time‑saving workflow that provides ready reports and hard‑copy evidence for regulators, improves preventive grounds and safety maintenance, and helps the airport operate more efficiently as it continues to grow.
