Digital Catapult, an organization running a quantum innovation programme, needed to bring a diverse cohort of professionals from leading UK companies up to the same foundational level of quantum computing knowledge. With no prior experience required, the challenge was to efficiently prepare participants for the hands-on application phase of their hybrid program. They selected Q-CTRL and its Black Opal product to deliver this introductory training.

Q-CTRL implemented its Black Opal online platform to provide self-paced learning on quantum fundamentals, which was complemented by bespoke in-person masterclasses. This solution successfully equipped all participants for the program's experimentation phase and was highly rated for its usefulness. The measurable impact was significant, with Q-CTRL's Black Opal directly contributing to a rise in participant confidence from 3.1 to 4.2 out of 5, and the overall program received an average participant rating of 4.8 out of 5.
