Pythian Helps Tinyco Expand Operations Globally

TinyCo, a San Francisco-based mobile gaming company, was growing rapidly and needed to focus on launching new games rather than managing a complex data environment. As its workload increased, TinyCo turned to Pythian for support with its MySQL and Cassandra infrastructure, as well as its business intelligence setup.

Pythian implemented round-the-clock expert support, managed TinyCo’s database cluster, and built a more scalable architecture using OpenVPN Access Server, a site-to-site VPN between Rackspace and Amazon VPC, and a Vertica cluster on Amazon. The result was a 3x performance increase, zero-downtime migration from Rackspace to Amazon VPC, improved scalability and manageability, and reduced licensing costs.
