Leading Financial Services Company, one of Europe’s leading financial services firms, needed to scale its mobile payments platform and break down data silos across more than 400 databases while keeping core banking systems separate and secure. It partnered with Pythian, using Hadoop and Cloudera Enterprise, to create a single, integrated data source that business teams could access for analytics, new services, and improved fraud detection.

Pythian designed and delivered a secure, multi-tenant enterprise data lake in less than 90 days, complete with sandbox controls and rigorous security policies. The result was expanded capacity from 11 to 27 nodes, 300 TB of HDFS usage, lower provisioning and maintenance costs, faster time to market, better productivity, and new customer experiences through enhanced fraud detection and scalable mobile payment services.
