TFG Integrates Multi-Source Data Sets and Enables Faster, More Intelligent Decision-Making

The Foschini Group (TFG) is a global South African retailer operating 4,000 stores across 32 countries with 29 brands. Rapid growth left the business with roughly 20 disparate data sources and a hybrid mix of on‑prem and cloud systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, AWS). Existing BI tools struggled with scale — TFG processes about 20 million stock records daily — forcing the BI team to spend weeks moving data to produce deep financial and operational reports and preventing fast, accurate multi‑source analysis and governed self‑service.

TFG implemented the Pyramid Decision Intelligence Platform to unify analytics without extracting or duplicating data, integrating directly with SAP HANA/BW, Oracle, Microsoft and other systems. Pyramid’s familiar, Excel‑friendly interface and governed single‑view pipeline delivered near‑real‑time access, improved data integrity and dramatically faster reporting: 60‑page buyer reports now run in one hour (vs. one week), procurement reports in 10 minutes (vs. 3.5 days) and manufacturing analyses in an hour (vs. a week). The platform centralized hybrid analytics, reduced operational overhead, increased data literacy and freed the BI team to focus on insight generation.
