A PXT Select Case Study
General Hospital Network Organization, a large multi-state hospital network, was struggling to hire and retain nurses in its Oncology Department, where turnover was especially high and a competing hospital was located nearby. Before using PXT Select, 33% of new RN hires and 40% of new CNA hires failed within six months, creating major staffing disruption and costing more than $80,000 per failed hire.
PXT Select implemented its assessments to build performance models, screen candidates, and improve onboarding by matching new hires with more compatible mentors. The results were strong: early hire failures for both RNs and CNAs were cut by 50%, two-year retention more than doubled, and nurses with 80% or higher match scores showed especially strong retention. The pilot cost $20,000 and generated an estimated $350,000 in savings, delivering a return of $17.50 for every dollar invested.
