Health Now, a New Zealand-based healthtech startup, faced the challenge of high upfront costs preventing a quarter of the population from accessing healthcare. They sought to adapt the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) model to the health sector to remove this financial barrier. The company partnered with vendor Putti to transition their existing Progressive Web App into a more secure and performant native mobile application.

Putti implemented a cross-platform solution, building native iOS and Android apps for Health Now. This allowed the platform to run smoothly with high security and full access to device features. The result was New Zealand's first health-focused BNPL app, enabling patients to spread healthcare costs interest-free, receive employer contributions, and proactively fund their health wallets. The successful project was launched in under three months.
