With Pushwoosh, SPORT1 implemented transactional push notifications for live sports updates, editorial push notifications for news and articles, and in-app messages for feature updates and feedback. The team also improved opt-in during onboarding and used granular user preferences to send more relevant content, helping SPORT1 reach 5 million app opens per month and push open rates of up to 8%, about 2–3x above the benchmark for news apps.
