Case Study: Urbangap achieves game-like mobile remote control for its interactive website with Pusher

A Pusher Case Study

Preview of the Urbangap Case Study

Urbangap’s monthly website challenge

Urbangap, a web design studio running the self-challenge "Urban12," set out to build a new website each month to showcase their design values and experimentation. For April they focused on "Interaction," demonstrating a site that can be navigated from a smartphone; to achieve this they worked with Pusher and used Pusher's HTML5 WebSockets to power the real‑time remote-control features.

Pusher's WebSocket solution enabled Urbangap to let users control the whole site from their mobile device, creating a low-latency, game-like navigation experience without a mouse or keyboard. The integration with Pusher noticeably enhanced the user experience—turning site navigation into an interactive, console-style session and highlighting Urbangap’s innovation in real‑time web interaction.
