A Pusher Case Study
BangonPH is a community-built website set up to coordinate relief after Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), which affected more than 2 million people and caused thousands of deaths. Facing rapidly changing needs across many regions (food, water, medicine, shelter) and high traffic, BangonPH used Pusher to power real-time updates so volunteers and donors could see and share current needs and offers.
Pusher provided its real-time messaging service and removed usage limits to keep BangonPH responsive during the crisis, enabling live lists by region and links for international aid. The result was faster, centralized coordination that connected local volunteers and international supporters to affected areas—directly supporting relief efforts for the millions impacted by Typhoon Yolanda—and Pusher’s support ensured the site scaled under heavy demand.
