RSJ UK delivers Purple WiFi in Faringdon Town Centre, Oxfordshire

Faringdon Town Centre, Oxfordshire needed reliable public connectivity and a way to better inform and engage visitors in a town where businesses lacked superfast broadband. The free public WiFi scheme was delivered by STL Communications with Ruckus equipment from RSJ UK and the social WiFi service provided by Purple (Purple WiFi) to give shoppers secure, easy access to online information and local services.

Purple implemented a social WiFi solution with simple social-login or short-form access, content filtering for safety, and real-time analytics (age, gender, dwell time) while delivering speeds up to 14 Mbps. The service lets the Vale of White Horse District Council and local partners send targeted e-shots about events, track visitor behavior, increase engagement and dwell time in the Market Place, and provide a faster, safer online experience for residents and visitors.
