Plus Dane Group installs Purple WiFi and Cisco / Cisco Meraki

Plus Dane Group, a social housing provider, needed a simple, family‑friendly way to give tenants free, safe internet access across its estate as part of a digital inclusion initiative. To meet that need it signed a three‑year contract to deploy Purple’s WiFi solution (Purple WiFi) alongside Cisco Meraki hardware across 31 venues in Merseyside and Cheshire, seeking an overlay that wouldn’t disrupt existing telecoms and that required minimal IT intervention.

Purple implemented its guest WiFi platform with content filtering (member of the Internet Watch Foundation), single‑click social/login authentication and the Purple Portal for targeted tenant communications, while Cisco Meraki APs were deployed (21 APs at head office and plans for one Meraki AP at each of ~30 sites). The result is fast, low‑touch access for tenants, safer browsing, easier IT management and measurable scale — a three‑year rollout across 31 venues with one AP per site — delivered in partnership with Pennine Telecom (license) and Eison (hardware implementation).
