Oakham Town opened a new indoor bus station and wanted to offer free, easy-to-use guest WiFi and real-time travel information for residents and visitors. Millennium Ltd led the installation using TP-LINK routers and selected Purple WiFi as the guest WiFi system with social (Facebook) login to meet content-filtering and legislative requirements, while overcoming site challenges such as digging for BT lines and integrating a live train timetable feed.
Purple’s portal was deployed to provide seamless social logins, content filtering and the live timetable integration so passengers can access free internet and up‑to‑date travel info while they wait. The rollout improved the passenger experience for a town of about 10,000 people (and roughly 150,000 annual bus journeys), and delivered measurable engagement gains—Millennium Ltd reported a 50% increase in Facebook likes via Purple’s login flow—demonstrating Purple’s impact on both service and user engagement.
