Preview of the Miami HEAT Case Study

Miami HEAT - Customer Case Study

Miami HEAT, owner of the AmericanAirlines Arena, needed a secure, venue-wide WiFi solution to support high-bandwidth fan experiences (video replays, social sharing), enable digital ticketing and mobile point-of-sale, and capture customer demographics via analytics. After evaluating options that would integrate with their Aruba WiFi infrastructure, the team selected Purple to provide guest WiFi and WiFi analytics with custom-branded splash pages and simple login flows.

Purple was deployed across 350+ access points, providing Facebook or short-form login, dashboards for demographics and dwell analytics, and integration with the HEAT’s systems to promote the team app and offers. Since launch, over 290,000 unique connections (≈28,000/month) have been recorded, about 25% of event attendees connect on average, and data shows 90% of visitors are singular attendees — insights the Miami HEAT now use via Purple to personalize marketing, drive revenue, and improve the fan experience.
