Mad Mex - Customer Case Study

Mad Mex, a fast‑growing Mexican food chain with 70+ restaurants across Australia and New Zealand, needed a scalable way to collect and analyse customer data to personalise marketing and improve retention. The out‑of‑the‑box Ubiquiti analytics they were using had limited reporting, poor multi‑location dashboards and no easy API/CRM integration, so Mad Mex evaluated vendors and chose Purple for a centralized WiFi analytics and guest‑WiFi solution.

Purple was deployed across roughly 50 Ubiquiti access points in 50+ restaurants in November 2016, delivering secure guest WiFi plus dashboards, data visualisation and API access to feed Mad Mex’s CRM. The rollout generated strong results: about 30,000 records in the first six months (over 25,000 customer connections overall), 58% of logins via social, and an average 7.14% month‑on‑month increase in customer retention—enabling Mad Mex to begin personalised marketing and loyalty growth using Purple’s data.
