Case Study: London Borough of Brent boosts visitor engagement and reporting with Purple WiFi

A Purple Case Study

Preview of the London Borough of Brent Case Study

London Borough of Brent installs Purple WiFi

The London Borough of Brent engaged Purple to replace and evaluate its existing guest WiFi across civic and library venues. Brent needed a solution that could run alongside its current system for comparison, provide stronger reporting, social media login and exposure, content filtering, and handle pre-registration of IT-lending devices—challenges that the borough’s IT, communications and library teams each viewed differently.

Purple delivered its Purple WiFi cloud guest solution (deployed with Unified Consultancy and Xirrus high-density access points) across the Civic Centre, five libraries and several community sites, pre-registering devices, enabling social logins and content filtering, and integrating exportable visitor data for targeted e-shots. The rollout boosted online engagement—Brent Council Facebook Likes rose 51% and Brent Libraries Likes increased by over 95% within two months—while Purple’s reporting and cloud support simplified management and improved marketing and customer insights.
