A Purple Case Study
King’s Cross, the 67‑acre London redevelopment of homes, shops, offices and public spaces, faced patchy network coverage, instability and a fragmented, hard‑to‑manage WiFi estate that couldn’t identify or engage the millions of visitors it receives each year. To fix this, King’s Cross partnered with Haptic Networks and Purple to deliver a free, fast and secure guest WiFi service — with Purple providing the authentication and WiFi analytics layer.
Haptic redesigned the infrastructure and Purple was installed across 60 access points to give seamless social or short‑form login and capture demographic and behavioural data (name, DOB, interests, footfall, dwell time, visit frequency). The new Purple-enabled solution simplified management, turned the network into a revenue-generating tool and drove personalised engagement; to date the network has recorded 123,471 all‑time WiFi users and averages about 5,000 users per month, boosting loyalty and customer spend.
