Harrods wanted to grow sign-ups to its Harrods Rewards loyalty programme and increase spend among customers, while also improving the in-store guest experience. Using Purple’s Guest WiFi and captive portal, Harrods aimed to turn its free WiFi into a tool for customer engagement and compliant data capture.
Purple implemented an on-brand, frictionless WiFi experience with a custom splash page and WiFi analytics, allowing Harrods to collect visitor data and prompt users to express interest in Harrods Rewards before redirecting them to sign up. Over the past year, 581,317 users logged in, 38% opted in to marketing, 4,453 signed up to Rewards, and the initiative delivered up to a 57X return on investment, helping Harrods build a 3.6 million-contact database and drive more purchases.
