HM Network turns the San Marco Group Purple

San Marco Group, a chain of four Italian restaurants and a bar in Preston, Lancashire, needed a reliable guest internet solution and customer insights because several venues suffered poor mobile coverage. To solve this, the group chose Purple’s guest WiFi solution (deployed as Purple WiFi by HM Network’s Social WiFi division) to provide secure, family-friendly internet access and capture visitor analytics.

HM Network installed Purple WiFi across the estate using TP-Link routers flashed with Purple firmware, enabling social logins, check-ins and the Purple Portal analytics. Using Purple’s data San Marco Group discovered that more than half of visitors are male and 25% are aged 18–25, identified new versus repeat customers, increased engagement on their Facebook page, and tailored marketing offers accordingly — all delivered cost-effectively without large upfront costs.
