Croydon Health Services, a 500-bed hospital in Croydon, UK, was losing staff time because patients and visitors frequently stopped the 3,800-member team for directions. The challenge was driving major disruption, with hundreds of hours lost each day and high annual costs from interruptions and missed appointments, so CHS looked for a digital wayfinding solution from Purple.

Purple implemented web-based wayfinding, a mobile app, and seven interactive kiosks across the hospital campus in August 2021. Since then, the system has delivered 58,465 sets of directions, saved about 80,000 hours of staff time, reduced missed appointment costs by £730,812, and created total savings of about £1.5 million.
