Cleveland Metroparks, which manages 18 reservations across more than 23,000 acres, needed to turn its public WiFi from a basic login page into a source of visitor insight without adding network staff. The park system selected Purple’s WiFi and analytics solution (including Location Services) because it integrated with their existing Cisco access points and promised richer customer data and simple management.
Purple overlaid its platform onto 140 Cisco access points across 20 zones and, within six months, helped Cleveland Metroparks collect 21,180 lines of customer data, increase WiFi traffic by 24%, and achieve a 67% registration rate on a branded splash page (with 65% of traffic coming from the zoo). Purple’s analytics and location services are now used to map visitor movement, inform targeted marketing, staffing and site planning, and will support automated messaging and digital surveys for further operational gains.
