Victorinox Enhances its Storage System in Preparation for Continued Growth

Victorinox, the 130‑year‑old Swiss manufacturer known for pocket knives, watches, luggage and more, employs over 2,100 people and depends on an ERP system that serves about 80% of its users. As transaction volumes tripled and the business expanded geographically, the company’s legacy hybrid storage caused slow application response times and strained system performance, limiting productivity and growth.

In September 2016 Victorinox deployed Pure Storage all‑flash arrays (two FlashArray//M20s), gaining a 3.2:1 data‑reduction ratio and about 20% faster ERP and application response. The new solution improved VDI performance and system reliability, sped maintenance and boot times, simplified management with no extra software, and added Evergreen lifecycle protection to safeguard investment and lower long‑term costs.
