Univeg Trade Italia Reaps the Benefits of Flash from Pure Storage

Univeg Trade Italia, an Italy-based importer and exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables serving European mass-market retailers, needed faster, more reliable access to field data, images and messaging to maintain quality and responsiveness. The company struggled with a high-volume messaging system (100 mailboxes, many very large), legacy storage that degraded VDI performance, and a small IT team dependent on costly third‑party support.

With help from partner NGS, Univeg migrated VDI, Microsoft Exchange and RightFax to a Pure Storage FlashArray//M20. The upgrade cut VDI logon times from 51 to 28 seconds, delivered 3–4x faster data processing, achieved a 3.71:1 deduplication (reducing mail storage needs by ~70%), and reduced storage deployment from a week to under a day. Energy and cooling costs were halved, amortization extended to five years, third‑party support was eliminated, and overall user experience and IT autonomy improved significantly.
