Smartro, a KT Group subsidiary and South Korea’s leading provider of electronic payment, VAN and PG services, needed a highly reliable, high-performance switching system to deliver 24/7 authentication services. The project’s main challenges were minimizing service downtime, easing future capacity expansion, and reducing storage total cost of ownership while supporting a virtualized environment.

Smartro deployed Pure Storage FA-420 all‑flash arrays with the Pure1 cloud management platform, gaining enterprise-class performance and monitoring at a midrange price. The implementation cut average latency to 0.25 ms, achieved a 7:1 data reduction (≈85% space savings), simplified scaling and monitoring, and significantly reduced downtime and administrative effort—ensuring continuous, reliable payment services.
