A Pure Storage Case Study
QNET, a Hong Kong–based e-commerce and direct‑sales arm of QI Group with more than five million distributors worldwide, was struggling with a legacy spinning‑disk storage system that could not keep up with constant order activity and a critical commission‑calculation database. The aging platform caused severe I/O bottlenecks and lengthy processing windows—commission runs took about 30 hours—and prevented full use of new ERP and e‑commerce functionality.
QNET deployed a Pure Storage FlashArray, which eliminated the I/O constraints and shrank effective storage from 15 TB to about 3 TB (reducing rack space from 1.5 racks to 5U). Commission processing time dropped to under 15 hours (a >55% improvement), routine database maintenance can be done more frequently, management overhead and operating costs fell, and the company gained scalable, easier‑to‑manage storage to support future growth.
