A Pure Storage Case Study
Henry Davis York is a leading Australian law firm headquartered in Sydney with 49 partners and over 300 staff. As the firm grew, its existing storage became costly to maintain and increasingly unable to meet performance needs for reporting, mobility and future VDI plans; HDY wanted a smaller, more reliable, energy‑efficient storage footprint that would reduce maintenance overhead and remove storage as a business bottleneck.
HDY deployed two Pure Storage FlashArrays (FA‑420) for production and disaster recovery, creating a foundation for VDI and mobility. The new flash infrastructure delivered a 10x speed increase, cut the data‑centre footprint by two‑thirds, and sped tasks such as provisioning a VM from over 10 minutes to about one minute. Deduplication/compression, non‑disruptive updates and reduced admin time resulted in faster reports, lower maintenance costs and freed IT to focus on strategic initiatives.
