Nova, Iceland’s leading telecommunications provider, outgrew its legacy SAN environment as it scaled from a startup to serving roughly 34% of the population. With a two-person IT team, Nova needed a flexible, high-performance storage platform to eliminate downtime for maintenance, accelerate customer-facing services, and support rapid product rollout.

Nova deployed Pure Storage FlashArray—upgraded non-disruptively to a FlashArray//M50 under the Evergreen program—which now supports about 400 VMs and its SQL Server databases. The result: call-records are available online in ~3.5 minutes, data-reduction of ~3.7:1 overall (6:1 for SQL), 100% uptime since January 2014, simpler management, and faster time-to-market for new services.
