Model AG Improves Business Operations with Pure Storage

Model AG, a major Swiss corrugated paper and packaging producer with more than 4,000 employees and operations in Poland and the Czech Republic, faced capacity and performance limits on its legacy spinning-disk storage as growth and digitization increased demand on its mission‑critical SAP, CAD and production systems. With no failover environment, the company required an extremely reliable, high‑performance storage solution that offered data services like deduplication, compression, thin provisioning and fast access for large files across multiple sites.

Working with ITRIS, Model deployed two Pure Storage all‑flash arrays (one in Switzerland, one in Poland), each installed in about five hours and migrated by a single administrator. The move cut latencies from 3–4 ms to 0.4 ms, sped SAP system copies and backups (backups in one‑third less time), supported 100 simultaneous VMs, greatly simplified management, and delivered the reliability and cost‑effectiveness needed to support ongoing growth.
