IGS Energy Fuels Performance Improvements with Pure Storage

IGS Energy, a U.S. supplier of electricity and natural gas expanding into CNG and solar, was hampered by an aging VDI environment and a legacy SAN that caused slow application response, high SQL latencies, long developer wait times for database copies, and significant storage administration overhead across about 1,000 employees.

After a proof‑of‑concept, IGS deployed a Pure Storage FlashArray//m20 for its simplicity and support. The result: SQL latencies fell to ~2 ms, the VDI footprint dropped from ~12 TB to 700 GB supporting ~250 VMs, developer database restores went from 4–8 hours to under 5 minutes, nondisruptive upgrades completed in 19 minutes, call‑center responsiveness improved, and IT staff spent far less time managing storage.
