A Pure Storage Case Study
Harbour ISP, the fifth-largest NBN service provider in Australia, needed higher-performance, space-efficient infrastructure to support the National Broadband Network’s high-speed demands. Their existing mechanical storage couldn’t meet growing throughput needs and rack space was limited, so Harbour required a compact, high-performance alternative to sustain customer growth and NBN service levels.
Harbour migrated internal systems and ISP services to a Pure Storage FlashArray FA-420 with inline data reduction, moving CRM, Exchange, ERP and other workloads to all-flash storage. The change delivered a 10x performance boost, 5x space efficiency (two racks reduced to 8RU), data reduction from 7 TB to 700 GB (10:1), SQL startup cut from 30s to 3s, and an estimated $250K in OPEX savings over three years.
