A Pure Storage Case Study
Educational Media Foundation (EMF Broadcasting), a not‑for‑profit that operates more than 245 radio stations (K‑LOVE and Air1), faced a failing legacy SAN and an incumbent vendor pushing frequent hardware refreshes and unwanted auto‑tiering. EMF needed a new production storage solution that delivered high performance, capacity and predictable costs without added management complexity.
After a 30‑day no‑risk trial, EMF deployed two Pure Storage FlashArrays (one in each data center). Deployment took two days and migrations under a week; the largest virtualized database went from a 2+ hour process to 20 minutes. The FlashArrays delivered massive performance gains, strong deduplication (4.3:1–5.3:1), simplified management and a higher ROI compared with the vendor’s upgrade.
