Cornerstone OnDemand adds Pure Storage to its IT Foundation

Cornerstone OnDemand is a cloud-based talent-management provider serving 2,700 organizations and some 25 million end users. Because customers depend on always-on access to recruiting, learning, performance and analytics tools, Cornerstone needed to raise storage reliability and performance to meet strict SLAs, support thousands of customer databases, and enable a move to SQL Server 2014 with synchronous high-availability.

Cornerstone added Pure Storage arrays (FlashStack) alongside SQL Server AlwaysOn, validated by a proof-of-concept that showed consistent sub-millisecond performance, strong deduplication/compression and seamless, non-disruptive upgrades. The result was a fourfold IOPS increase, 40%+ faster application performance, reporting refreshes reduced from hours to minutes, improved uptime beyond SLA targets, and lower capital and licensing costs through greater storage efficiency and consolidation.
