Chevron Federal Credit Union Selects Pure Storage for 'Hands-Off' Storage

Chevron Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution serving 107,000 members, faced slow, complex and hard-to-scale legacy SANs that degraded application performance, increased maintenance overhead and made it difficult to meet strict uptime requirements for member-facing services.

After a proof-of-concept, Chevron deployed Pure Storage FlashArray//M20s with inline deduplication/compression and Evergreen non-disruptive upgrades. The new solution cut application load times by 60–70%, achieved the credit union’s 99.9999% uptime target, eliminated disruptive maintenance, reduced storage CAPEX/OPEX by more than 50% and shrank the rack footprint from 40U to 7U, enabling more efficient member service.
