A Pure Storage Case Study
Catholic Church Insurance (CCI), a Melbourne‑based insurer serving schools, churches and hospitals across Australia, was modernising its services to deliver a new cloud portal, insurance systems and faster client transactions. Its legacy storage was at capacity, expensive to maintain and slowing project delivery, so CCI needed a high‑performance, scalable infrastructure to improve user experience and accelerate time to value.
CCI deployed Cisco and Pure Storage FlashStack (including FlashArray//M20s, Cisco UCS and VMware), which was installed quickly and replaced multiple racks with a compact, integrated system. The move eliminated storage management overhead, cut backup time from 16 to 2 hours, sped processing by 10x and reduced VM boot times from 20s to 5s, while achieving 3.7:1 and 3.0:1 data reduction, fewer cables and lower power/cooling needs—delivering measurable cost, performance and reliability gains.
