A Pure Storage Case Study
BCS Group, a turn‑key automation supplier in aviation, logistics and industrial markets (part of the Daifuku group, headquartered in Auckland with ~450 staff across NZ, Australia and Malaysia), was held back by an aging spinning‑disk storage environment. High latency (15–200 ms), frequent disk failures and heavy maintenance disrupted VDI and development workflows, slowed routine operations and risked the company’s project‑driven growth.
BCS migrated to a Pure Storage FlashArray//m20 with VMware vSphere, gaining all‑flash performance, built‑in dedupe/compression and simplified management. The move cut latency to <2 ms, achieved 3.2:1 data reduction, shrank a full rack to a single array (saving ~3 kW), eliminated recurring storage failures and reduced patching from a week to a single night—freeing IT from day‑to‑day storage tasks and dramatically improving project velocity and reliability.
