A Pure Storage Case Study
ALOM Technologies, a global supply‑chain and third‑party logistics provider that develops and hosts its own business‑critical applications, was constrained by legacy spinning‑disk storage. Frequent forklift upgrades, rising CAPEX/OPEX and a storage system that demanded constant attention from a lean IT team were slowing development, testing and VDI performance—impacting the company’s ability to process hundreds of thousands of orders and deliver fast service.
ALOM deployed Pure Storage FlashArray (one array in its primary data center and one at its backup site) for simpler management and long‑term ROI under Pure’s Evergreen program, migrating VDI in under a month. The result: VDI and core applications run roughly twice as fast, a routine multi‑database query dropped from about 2 minutes to 7 seconds, data reduction of 4:1–9:1 freed capacity and cut hardware spend, replication became simple, and IT staff were freed from storage chores so projects ship faster.
