DBS Bank Limited, a leading Singapore-based financial services group, faced significant challenges due to non-standard, manual infrastructure provisioning and security configuration management processes. To address this, DBS turned to Puppet to automate and orchestrate these vital IT functions.
Using Puppet as its main automation and orchestration engine, DBS implemented a proprietary self-service platform. This included the AppSys portal for application infrastructure tasks and the SecureSys framework for automated security configuration management. The solution from Puppet enabled DBS to reduce provisioning turnaround from days to minutes and cut the staff effort for configuration remediation from 13 people down to just three, freeing up valuable resources and significantly improving security and efficiency.
