A Puppet Forge Module for LogicMonitor

LogicMonitor, a SaaS infrastructure-monitoring platform, faced the challenge of keeping monitoring aligned with modern DevOps practices—avoiding siloed tools and “hero engineer” fixes by making infrastructure and monitoring fully defined in code and version-controlled. To support their mantra that infrastructure should be managed from Puppet and Git, they needed tighter integration between Puppet automation and their monitoring platform.

They released an initial LogicMonitor Puppet module that lets teams provision and manage hosts, host groups, and collectors from Puppet code, bringing monitoring into the same software-defined workflow as the rest of infrastructure. The module streamlines operations, reduces manual intervention, and promotes a single, auditable monitoring system; additional features and an MCollective module are planned.
