Starburst, a leading data analytics company, needed to speed up and simplify infrastructure provisioning for its Starburst Galaxy platform across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Its Terraform-based process relied on fragile glue scripts, manual orchestration, and slow, hard-to-scale deployments that could take up to two weeks.

With Pulumi, Starburst moved to a fully automated, self-service infrastructure workflow using Pulumi’s programming model, Automation API, and Pulumi Cloud. The result was a 112x improvement in deployment speed, cutting multi-region blue-green deployments to about 3 hours, while also improving developer productivity, security, governance, and cost savings.
