Materialize, a cloud operational data store provider, needed a better way to manage its multi-region Amazon EKS Kubernetes environment. Using Pulumi’s Infrastructure as Code platform, Materialize centralized cluster management in a GitHub Actions workflow and enabled self-service staging deployments through a custom CLI built on familiar Python-based infrastructure code. Pulumi helped standardize configurations, improve governance, and reduce onboarding time for new engineers from one month to one week, delivering about 75% faster productivity for new team members.
