A Pulumi Case Study

Lemonade - Customer Case Study

Lemonade, the full-stack insurance carrier, needed a better way to keep up with fast-changing infrastructure demands. After using legacy Terraform on AWS, its infrastructure team was getting pulled into the critical path for new features, and developers lacked the programming-language support and flexibility needed to build and scale more sophisticated infrastructure-as-code deployments.

Pulumi helped Lemonade move to reusable infrastructure libraries and a building-blocks approach for AWS, including serverless components and Amazon RDS. With Pulumi, Lemonade centralized infrastructure management, embedded business logic for environment-specific configurations, enforced policies like logging and security, and improved CI/CD integrations. The result was faster self-service provisioning, lower operational burden on the small infrastructure team, better cost control through reuse, and the ability to ship new capabilities more quickly and safely.
